The PARKER 46F-6-8 is a brass flared tube connector designed for use in fluid and gas line assemblies where a leak-free mechanical connection is required. This fitting accepts a 3/8 inch tube OD with a 45-degree flare seat on one end and a 1/2-14 NPTF female threaded port on the other. The connector is rated to 1,000 psi maximum working pressure and handles temperatures up to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for a range of hydraulic, refrigeration, and pneumatic applications. Licensed trades including HVAC technicians and plumbers install this type of fitting in both new construction and service replacement work.
This connector is suited for residential and light commercial systems where copper or other flared tubing must transition to a female NPT port. Common install scenarios include refrigerant line connections, fuel oil lines, hydraulic circuits, and compressed air distribution. The Flare x FNPTF end configuration allows direct makeup to any standard 1/2-14 NPTF female port without adapters. Its compact overall length of 1.6 inches keeps installations tight in confined mechanical spaces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for systems using 3/8 inch OD flared tubing and 1/2-14 NPTF female port connections in HVAC, plumbing, hydraulic, and pneumatic applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician, plumber, or qualified mechanic. De-pressurize and isolate the line completely before disassembling any existing fitting. Ensure the tube end is cut square, deburred, and properly flared to the 45-degree SAE specification before makeup. Do not over-torque the flare nut, as brass flare seats can be deformed, resulting in leaks.
