The PARKER 46F-6-4 is a brass flared tube connector designed for 3/8 inch tube OD with a 1/4-18 NPTF thread and a 45-degree flare angle. It features a Flare x FNPTF end configuration, making it a direct-connect fitting between a flared tube line and a female NPTF port. Rated to 1000 psi maximum working pressure and a maximum working temperature of 250 degrees F, this connector is built for demanding fluid and gas line applications. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and refrigeration mechanics install this type of fitting in systems where a reliable metal-to-metal flare seal is required.
This connector is suited for residential and light commercial applications including refrigerant lines, fuel gas distribution, hydraulic circuits, and pneumatic tubing systems. Its brass construction offers good corrosion resistance in both wet and dry service environments. The 45-degree flare seats securely against SAE-standard flared tube ends, and the FNPTF thread provides a pressure-tight connection into standard NPTF-threaded ports on valves, manifolds, and equipment housings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems using 3/8 inch OD flared tubing terminated into 1/4-18 NPTF female ports, in accordance with SAE J512 and SAE J513 flare standards.
This fitting should be installed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or refrigeration mechanic. Depressurize and isolate the line before disassembly or installation. Do not over-tighten the flare nut against the seat, as brass fittings are susceptible to deformation under excessive torque. Verify thread standard compatibility before installation, as NPTF and NPT threads are not always interchangeable in high-pressure service.
