The PARKER 42IFHD-6 is a brass inverted flare union fitting designed to join two flared tube ends in a single inline connection. With a 3/8-inch tube OD and 5/8-18 UNF thread on both ends, it provides a secure, leak-resistant joint rated for up to 1000 psi working pressure and 250 degrees F. The all-brass construction resists corrosion and handles the temperature and pressure demands common in refrigeration, automotive, and fluid-power lines. Licensed HVAC technicians, refrigeration mechanics, and plumbers use this fitting when connecting or extending inverted flare tubing runs in tight spaces.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial applications where SAE J51 inverted flare connections are specified. Typical installations include brake lines, refrigerant tubing, and hydraulic or pneumatic lines that use inverted flare ends. Its compact overall length of 0.81 inches makes it well suited for confined plumbing or equipment cabinet routing. The UL Listed rating adds an extra layer of compliance verification for installations subject to inspection.
Designed as an OEM-style inverted flare union for 3/8-inch OD tubing lines using SAE J51 inverted flare fittings in refrigeration, hydraulic, or fluid-transfer systems.
Installation of inverted flare fittings should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with the applicable system type. Depressurize and, where applicable, recover any refrigerant from the line before beginning work, following EPA Section 608 requirements. Hand-tighten the fitting before applying a wrench to avoid cross-threading the brass seats. Do not over-torque; brass fittings can deform if seated threads are forced past hand-snug contact.
