The PARKER 42F-14 is a brass flared tube union designed for connecting two flared tubing ends in refrigeration, HVAC, and fluid-transfer applications. Featuring a 45-degree flare angle and Flare x Flare end connections with a 1-1/4-12 UNF thread, this union provides a secure, leak-resistant joint without welding or soldering. It is rated to 2800 psi maximum working pressure and handles temperatures up to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for high-pressure refrigerant lines and hydraulic circuits. Brass construction resists corrosion and meets SAE J512 and SAE J513 standards. The overall length is 2.72 inches and the fitting weighs 0.53 pounds.
This union is used wherever two lengths of 7/8-inch OD flared tubing must be joined inline. Common applications include residential and light commercial HVAC refrigerant line sets, fuel lines, and hydraulic tubing assemblies. The 45-degree flare profile is the standard angle for SAE-style refrigerant and fuel fittings, making this union a direct-fit component in those systems. Licensed HVAC technicians and plumbers are the primary installers in trade settings.
Designed for use with 7/8-inch OD tubing fitted with 45-degree SAE flares per SAE J512 and SAE J513 standards. Suitable for refrigerant, fuel, and hydraulic fluid service within the rated pressure and temperature limits.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or plumber. Before service, recover all refrigerant from the system per EPA Section 608 requirements and depressurize the line completely before disconnecting any fittings. Ensure both tube ends are properly flared to the correct 45-degree angle before assembly to achieve a leak-free joint. Do not over-torque the fitting; refer to the applicable SAE standard for recommended assembly practice.
