The PARKER 41IF-5 is a brass inverted flare nut designed for use in flared tube fitting assemblies. It accepts 5/16-inch OD tubing and threads onto a 1/2-20 UNF male fitting to secure a flared tube end in an inverted-flare connection. Rated to 1200 psi maximum working pressure and 250 degrees F maximum working temperature, this nut is suited for refrigeration, automotive, and fluid power lines where a leak-tight mechanical joint is required. At 0.62 inches overall length and 0.02 pounds, it is a compact, lightweight hardware component. Installation is handled by HVAC technicians, plumbers, and hydraulic system mechanics.
This inverted flare nut is used wherever SAE J51 inverted flare fittings are specified, including refrigerant lines, brake lines, fuel lines, and hydraulic tubing runs in both residential and light commercial service. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 5 pieces per order. The brass construction makes it appropriate for copper and soft steel tubing applications where corrosion resistance and ease of assembly are priorities.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for inverted flare tube assemblies using 5/16-inch OD tubing and 1/2-20 UNF threaded connections per SAE J51.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, or hydraulic mechanics working on flared tube systems. Ensure the tubing end is properly flared before threading the nut onto the mating fitting body. Hand-tighten first, then use a flare nut wrench to avoid rounding the hex and to prevent over-torquing the fitting. Always depressurize and purge the line before disconnecting or replacing fittings.
