The PARKER 4-2 F5OX-S is a steel flared tube straight thread connector designed for high-pressure hydraulic and fluid power applications. It provides a leak-resistant transition between a 37-degree flared tube end and an SAE O-Ring Boss (ORB) port. Constructed from steel with UNF straight threading, this fitting handles dynamic working pressures up to 7500 psi and temperatures up to 500 degrees F. With an outside diameter of 1/4 inch and an overall length of 1.17 inches, it is a compact, single-piece connector suited for installation in tight spaces. This connector is used in hydraulic systems, pneumatic lines, and fluid power circuits where a 37-degree flare tube must terminate at a straight-thread SAE-ORB port. Typical applications include mobile equipment, industrial machinery, and HVAC refrigerant line assemblies operating within the rated pressure and temperature envelope. The Flare x SAE-ORB end configuration makes it a direct, no-adapter solution when transitioning between a tube assembly and a ported manifold or valve block. Designed as an OEM-style replacement connector for hydraulic and fluid power systems using 1/4 inch OD flared tube lines with SAE O-Ring Boss threaded ports, conforming to SAE J514 and ISO 8434-2 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified hydraulic technician or licensed tradesperson familiar with fluid power systems. Depressurize and isolate the hydraulic or fluid circuit completely before removing or installing any fittings. Inspect the flare seat and ORB port for burrs or damage before assembly, and verify the O-ring is properly seated before torquing the straight thread end. Follow applicable SAE and system OEM torque guidelines; do not over-tighten, as this can distort the flare seat or damage the O-ring.
