The PARKER 316P-8-6N is a nylon plastic hex nipple designed for low-pressure pipe assemblies requiring a reduction between male pipe thread connections. Constructed from white nylon, this fitting offers corrosion resistance and lightweight performance in fluid handling, pneumatic, and plumbing distribution systems. The hex body allows standard wrench engagement for secure, leak-free assembly. With 1/2-inch MPT on one end and 3/8-inch MPT on the other, it provides a direct threaded reduction without additional adapters. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians commonly install this fitting in light-duty water, air, and chemical-compatible piping runs.
This hex nipple is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a threaded pipe size transition is needed in tight spaces. Typical installations include potable water distribution, pneumatic control lines, irrigation manifolds, and low-pressure chemical systems where metal fittings are undesirable due to corrosion or weight concerns. The nylon construction makes it compatible with a range of non-aggressive fluids and compressed air service at moderate pressures and temperatures.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1/2-inch x 3/8-inch MPT threaded pipe systems in residential and light commercial plumbing, pneumatic, and fluid distribution applications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified HVAC technicians following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply or depressurize the pneumatic line before disassembly or installation. Apply PTFE thread tape or an approved pipe thread sealant to the male threads before hand-tightening and then wrench-tightening. Do not overtighten nylon fittings, as excessive torque can crack the fitting body.
