The PARKER 30182-6-8B is a barbed push-on hose male connector designed for secure, leak-resistant hose-to-pipe connections in fluid transfer systems. Machined from brass, this fitting features a 3/8-18 male NPTF threaded end on one side and a 1/2 inch barb on the other. The NPTF thread form creates a dry-seal connection without requiring additional sealant tape or compound, though job-site practice often calls for additional thread sealant. At 1.93 inches in overall length, this is a compact inline fitting suited to tight plumbing, hydraulic, and pneumatic assemblies. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and fluid-systems installers routinely stock this type of fitting for low- to medium-pressure hose runs.
This connector is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC condensate and refrigerant-line ancillary connections, pneumatic tool lines, and general industrial fluid transfer applications. The push-on barb end grips flexible hose without a separate clamp in low-pressure service, though hose clamps are recommended in higher-pressure or vibration-prone installations. The threaded NPTF end connects directly to standard NPT ports on valves, pumps, manifolds, and equipment fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard 1/2 inch ID push-on hose and 3/8-18 NPT or NPTF female ports found on a wide range of plumbing, HVAC, pneumatic, and industrial fluid-handling equipment.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC or IFGC as relevant. Depressurize and drain the system completely before removing or installing any fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the NPTF threads per job-site requirements, even though the NPTF form is rated for dry-seal service. Seat the barb fully into the hose and secure with a clamp appropriate for the operating pressure.
