Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the tubing ferrule, then turn an additional fractional turn with a wrench per the fitting manufacturer guidelines — do not overtighten. Thread sealant or tape appropriate for the service media should be applied to the MNPT threads in accordance with local codes and the system fluid compatibility requirements.
