The PARKER 2GF-5 is a copper flared tube gasket designed for use in flared tube fitting assemblies requiring a reliable, pressure-rated seal. It seats at a 45-degree flare angle and is compatible with 5/16-inch tube OD connections. Rated to 1,200 psi maximum working pressure and 250 degrees F maximum working temperature, this gasket is built for demanding hydraulic, refrigeration, and fluid-system applications. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and fluid-system mechanics install this type of gasket when assembling or servicing flared tube joints to prevent leaks under sustained pressure and temperature cycling.
This gasket is suited for residential and commercial applications where SAE-standard flared tube connections are used. Typical install scenarios include refrigerant line sets, hydraulic lines, fuel systems, and compressed-air or fluid transfer assemblies using 45-degree SAE flare fittings. The copper material conforms well to mating flare seats, providing a reliable metal-to-metal seal. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 5 units.
Designed for use with 45-degree SAE flare tube fittings with a 5/16-inch tube OD, conforming to SAE J512 and SAE J513 standards.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, or hydraulic system mechanics. Before servicing any flared connection, depressurize the system and, where applicable, recover any refrigerant per EPA Section 608 requirements. Seat the gasket flush against the flare face before tightening the flare nut. Do not reuse a gasket that has been compressed under prior service, as the seal surface may be compromised.
