The PARKER 269HB-8-8 is a brass elbow hose barb fitting designed to connect flexible hose to a male NPT threaded port at a 90-degree angle. It features a 1/2 inch male NPT thread on one end and a 1/2 inch ID beaded hose barb on the other. The beaded barb design improves grip and helps resist hose pullout under pressure or vibration. Rated for a working temperature range of -40 degrees F to 160 degrees F, this fitting is suited for fluid transfer lines in HVAC, plumbing, and general industrial applications. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters are the typical installers.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial systems where a directional change is needed between a threaded port and a flexible hose run. Common applications include condensate drain lines, chilled water lines, cooling equipment, and other low-pressure fluid handling systems. The brass construction provides corrosion resistance in wet environments and is compatible with a wide range of fluid media commonly encountered in HVAC and plumbing service work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for systems using 1/2 inch ID flexible hose with 1/2 inch male NPT threaded ports in HVAC, plumbing, and general fluid transfer applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off fluid flow and depressurize the line before removing any existing fittings. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads before installation. Do not overtighten the NPT connection, as brass threads can crack under excessive torque; hand-tighten plus wrench-snug is the standard practice.
