The PARKER 269HB-8-6 is a brass barbed hose fitting in an elbow configuration, designed to connect a 1/2-inch inside diameter hose to a 3/8-inch male NPT threaded port. The elbow geometry allows direction changes in tight plumbing runs without bending or kinking the hose. Constructed from brass, this fitting delivers solid corrosion resistance in fluid transfer applications common to HVAC, plumbing, and light industrial systems. A beaded hose barb design improves hose retention and helps resist pull-off under pressure. The fitting is rated for use from -40 degrees F to 160 degrees F, covering the full range of typical hydronic and cooling system service temperatures.
This elbow barb fitting is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a flexible hose must transition to a threaded NPT port at a 90-degree angle. Common install scenarios include condensate drain lines, chilled water loops, hydronic heating circuits, and water treatment equipment. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters install this type of fitting when routing hose around obstructions or making directional changes at equipment connections. The 3/8-inch NPT male thread end mates directly to standard female NPT ports on valves, manifolds, and equipment housings.
Designed for use with 1/2-inch inside diameter flexible hose and standard 3/8-inch female NPT threaded ports in plumbing, HVAC, and fluid transfer systems.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician. Shut off water or fluid supply and relieve system pressure before installing or replacing any fitting. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads in accordance with IPC and IFGC guidelines for threaded connections. Push the hose fully over the barb past the bead retainer and secure with an appropriately sized hose clamp to prevent leakage under pressure.
