The PARKER 259IFHD-5-2 is a brass inverted 45-degree flare elbow fitting designed for hydraulic and fluid system tubing connections. It accepts 5/16-inch tube OD on the flare end and connects to a 1/8-27 NPTF male threaded port on the other end. The all-brass construction resists corrosion and handles working pressures up to 1200 psi and temperatures up to 250 degrees F, making it well suited for refrigeration, fuel, and hydraulic line work. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and fluid-system installers use this fitting when routing tubing at a 45-degree angle into a threaded port is required.
This fitting is appropriate for residential and light commercial refrigeration, hydraulic, and fuel system applications where a directional change is needed at a threaded connection point. The inverted flare seat provides a reliable metal-to-metal seal when properly torqued, reducing leak risk in pressurized systems. It meets SAE J51 standards and carries a UL Listing, making it acceptable for use in applications where those certifications are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for fluid and refrigeration tubing systems using 5/16-inch OD tubing with inverted flare connections and 1/8-27 NPTF threaded ports.
This fitting is typically installed by licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, or hydraulic system mechanics. Always depressurize and evacuate the system before removing or installing any fitting. Hand-tighten the flare nut first to ensure proper thread engagement, then torque to the specification required by the applicable system standard. Do not overtighten, as brass threads can be damaged by excessive force.
