The PARKER 23R30A is a string-wound depth cartridge filter designed for plumbing and water filtration applications. Measuring 30 inches in length with a 2.5-inch outside diameter, this filter uses tightly wound cotton media to capture sediment, dirt, rust, and particulate matter down to 5 microns. The polypropylene plastic core provides structural support under flow, while the FDA-grade cotton media makes it suitable for potable water systems. A licensed plumber or water treatment technician typically handles installation in residential or light commercial filter housings.
This cartridge is used in standard 30-inch filter housings for sediment reduction in municipal water supply lines, well water systems, and pre-filtration stages ahead of softeners, reverse osmosis units, or other water treatment equipment. The 5-micron rating targets fine sediment that can foul downstream equipment or affect water quality. The cotton string-wound construction provides graduated density filtration, capturing larger particles at the outer layers and finer particles toward the core, which extends service life between changeouts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for standard 30-inch string-wound cartridge filter housings used in residential and light commercial plumbing and water treatment systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified water treatment technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before opening the filter housing. Inspect the housing o-ring and replace it if worn before seating the new cartridge. Do not exceed the rated maximum working temperature of 120 degrees F or operate beyond the manufacturer-recommended service interval.
