The PARKER 216P-12 is a brass hex plug designed to seal open pipe ports in industrial and fluid-handling systems. It features a 3/4-inch male MNPTF (Dryseal) thread that forms a pressure-tight seal without requiring a separate sealant compound. Rated to 1,000 psi maximum working pressure, this plug handles demanding service conditions across a wide temperature range of -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F. The hex head accepts a standard wrench for installation and removal. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting during system assembly, maintenance, and pressure testing.
This plug is suited for use in hydraulic lines, pneumatic systems, lubrication circuits, and general industrial piping where a threaded port must be capped. The brass construction resists corrosion in water, air, oil, and many fuel service environments. It conforms to SAE J530 and SAE J531 standards, making it appropriate for automotive, mobile equipment, and stationary industrial applications where those specifications are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service plug for industrial pipe systems using 3/4-inch MNPTF threaded ports conforming to SAE J530 and SAE J531 specifications.
Installation and removal should be performed by a licensed pipefitter or plumber following applicable plumbing and mechanical codes. Always depressurize and isolate the system before installing or removing any pipe plug. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the threads only if the application requires it, as MNPTF dryseal threads are engineered to seal on the thread form itself. Use a properly sized wrench on the hex head — do not use pipe wrenches or pliers, which can damage the fitting body.
