The PARKER 209P-8-2 is a threaded pipe bushing designed to reduce a 1/2 inch male MNPTF connection down to a 1/8 inch female FNPTF port. This fitting is used to adapt between two different pipe thread sizes within a pressurized fluid or pneumatic system. It is rated for up to 1000 psi working pressure and handles temperatures from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F. The 209P-8-2 meets SAE J530 and SAE J531 standards, making it a reliable choice for industrial piping assemblies. Plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians install this type of bushing when connecting instrumentation, gauges, or branch lines to larger-diameter threaded ports.
This bushing is suited for use in industrial fluid systems, pneumatic lines, hydraulic circuits, and general plumbing applications where a threaded size reduction is needed. The MNPTF x FNPTF configuration provides a pressure-tight seal on tapered thread connections. It is appropriate for both shop-fabricated assemblies and field installations where pressure integrity is required across a wide temperature range.
Designed for use in industrial piping systems requiring a 1/2 inch MNPTF to 1/8 inch FNPTF threaded bushing reduction in applications rated up to 1000 psi.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter or plumber following applicable codes such as the IPC or IFGC where relevant. De-pressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to tapered threads per system requirements. Do not over-tighten, as this can damage the threads or create leak paths.
