The PARKER 209P-16-8 is an industrial pipe bushing designed to reduce a 1-inch male MNPTF thread down to a 1/2-inch female FNPTF thread. This fitting serves as a standard threaded reducer in hydraulic, pneumatic, and general fluid-conveyance piping systems. It is rated for a maximum working pressure of 1000 psi and handles a temperature range of -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for demanding service environments. Plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians install this bushing where a pipe or fitting of a larger thread size must connect to a smaller-diameter port or line.
This bushing is used in industrial and commercial piping installations where thread size transitions are required within a pressurized system. Typical applications include hydraulic manifolds, pneumatic distribution headers, fluid transfer equipment, and general industrial plumbing assemblies. The MNPTF x FNPTF connection type provides a pressure-tight tapered thread seal without requiring additional sealing components beyond standard thread sealant or PTFE tape applied per job-site practice.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for industrial piping systems requiring a 1-inch MNPTF to 1/2-inch FNPTF threaded reduction at up to 1000 psi.
Installation is performed by licensed pipefitters or qualified hydraulic technicians. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads in accordance with the applicable piping code before tightening. Do not over-torque the fitting, as tapered NPT threads can crack fittings or distort ports if driven past proper engagement depth.
