The PARKER 208P-12-6 is a female-threaded pipe coupling designed for industrial fluid and pneumatic systems. It connects two pipe segments using FNPTF (female national pipe thread fuel) connections at a 3/4 by 3/8 inch reducing configuration. The coupling is rated for up to 1,000 psi maximum working pressure, making it suitable for moderate- to high-pressure service lines. It operates across a wide temperature range of -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians typically install this fitting where a reducing female-to-female threaded joint is required in a fuel, hydraulic, or pneumatic line.
This coupling fits residential, commercial, and light industrial piping applications where a reducing FNPTF connection is needed between two externally threaded pipe ends. It meets SAE J530 and SAE J531 standards, making it appropriate for fuel and hydraulic system plumbing. The reducing size -- 3/4 inch to 3/8 inch -- suits installations where a main supply line steps down to a smaller branch or instrument port. Typical use cases include machinery plumbing, compressed air systems, fuel distribution lines, and hydraulic manifold assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style FNPTF reducing pipe coupling for industrial fluid, pneumatic, and fuel system plumbing where SAE J530 and SAE J531 compliant fittings are specified.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed pipefitter or plumber. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing any fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male pipe threads before engagement; confirm the sealant is rated for the fluid media in the system. Tighten to snug fit using pipe wrenches -- do not overtighten FNPTF connections, as this can crack the fitting or distort the threads.
