Installation should be performed by a licensed tradesperson familiar with flared tube fitting assembly. Before servicing any line, depressurize and isolate the system completely. Both tube ends must be cut square and flared to a proper 37-degree angle using a calibrated flaring tool before assembling the union. Tighten the union nuts to the fitting manufacturer's standard procedure for steel flare fittings — do not overtighten, as this can crack the flare seat.
