The PARKER 2-4 FBZ-B is a straight brass compression tube connector designed to join tubing to a male NPT threaded port in a single, leak-resistant connection. The fitting uses a compression end on one side and a 1/4 inch MNPT thread on the other, making it a direct solution for transitioning between compression tubing runs and threaded pipe fittings. Rated to 3,600 psi maximum working pressure, it is built to ASTM-B-453 and ASTM-B16 standards. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and refrigeration mechanics install this type of fitting in instrumentation, pneumatic control lines, and fluid-handling systems where a reliable metal-to-metal compression seal is required.
This connector is suited for residential and light commercial applications involving copper or compatible soft-metal tubing connecting into NPT-threaded ports on valves, manifolds, gauges, or equipment panels. The straight configuration keeps the plumbing profile compact and allows inline installation with no change of direction. Its high working pressure rating also makes it appropriate for pressurized pneumatic and hydraulic instrument lines where vibration resistance and leak-free performance are priorities.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for systems using 1/4 inch MNPT threaded ports with compression tubing connections. Cross-reference Swagelok part number B-200-1-4 for equivalent specification verification.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or instrumentation mechanics. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before removing or installing compression fittings. Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the tubing ferrule, then snug with a wrench per the fitting manufacturer's standard procedure — do not overtighten, as brass compression fittings can deform. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the MNPT threads in accordance with IPC and IFGC guidelines for the fluid or gas service involved.
