The PARKER 19R20 is a string-wound cartridge filter designed for plumbing and water filtration systems that require reliable particulate removal at a 10-micron rating. Constructed from FDA-grade cotton wound around a tinned steel core, this filter measures 2.5 inches in outside diameter and 20 inches in length. It handles water temperatures up to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for both cold and hot water supply applications. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians install this filter in standard filter housings as part of whole-house, point-of-entry, or light commercial filtration systems.
This filter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where sediment control is required. Common applications include pre-filtration ahead of water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, water heaters, and process water lines. The string-wound cotton construction traps sediment, sand, dirt, rust particles, and other suspended solids at the 10-micron level. Its FDA-grade material rating makes it appropriate for potable water systems where compliance with food-grade material standards is required by code or specification.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install cartridge for standard 20-inch plumbing filter housings accepting a 2.5-inch outside diameter string-wound cartridge.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure completely before removing the filter housing and replacing the cartridge. Inspect the housing O-ring for wear or damage at each cartridge change and replace if necessary. Do not exceed the rated maximum working temperature of this filter in the installed system.
