The PARKER 179PTCNS-8-8 is a push-to-connect tube-to-male NPT tube fitting designed for fast, tool-free tube connections in pneumatic and fluid systems. Constructed from brass, this fitting accepts 1/2 inch OD tubing on both tube ends and threads into a 1/2 inch male NPT port. It is rated for a maximum working pressure of 250 psi and handles temperatures from -40 degrees F to 200 degrees F. The nitrile O-ring seal ensures a secure, leak-resistant connection. Classified as a D.O.T. air brake fitting, it meets the requirements for use in commercial vehicle air brake circuits. Plumbers, fleet maintenance technicians, and pneumatic system installers work with this fitting in both shop and field environments.
This fitting is suited for use in DOT-compliant air brake systems, compressed air lines, and general pneumatic plumbing where a male NPT thread connection is needed inline with push-to-connect tubing. The tube-through design allows straight-run tube connections on both ends while transitioning to a threaded port at the center male NPT connection. It is appropriate for residential, commercial, and fleet applications operating within the rated pressure and temperature envelope.
Designed as a DOT-compliant air brake fitting for use with 1/2 inch OD tubing and 1/2 inch male NPT ports in pneumatic and compressed air plumbing systems.
Installation is performed by pneumatic system technicians or fleet maintenance professionals. Before servicing any air brake or pressurized pneumatic line, depressurize the system fully and verify zero pressure before disconnecting existing fittings. Ensure tubing is cut cleanly and squarely and is inserted to full depth in the push-to-connect port to achieve a proper seal. Thread engagement should comply with applicable standards for NPT connections; do not overtighten threaded connections into aluminum or plastic ports.
