The PARKER 179PTCNS-4-2 is a push-to-connect brass 45-degree male elbow tube fitting designed for rigid tube-to-male NPT connections in compressed air and fluid systems. It accepts 1/4 inch OD tubing on each tube port and connects to a 1/8 inch NPT male thread. Rated to 250 psi maximum working pressure, the fitting is built from brass with a nitrile O-ring seal. It carries D.O.T. FMVSS 571.106 certification, making it a compliant choice for air brake plumbing on commercial vehicles and trailers. The push-to-connect design allows fast, tool-free tube insertion while maintaining a secure, leak-resistant seal under pressure.
This fitting is used in D.O.T.-compliant air brake systems on trucks, trailers, and other commercial vehicles where a 45-degree directional change is needed between a rigid tube run and an NPT-ported valve, manifold, or component. It is also applicable in general industrial pneumatic and fluid circuits operating within its rated temperature and pressure range. Licensed technicians performing air brake service and fleet maintenance professionals are the primary installers. The fitting suits both OEM assembly and field repair applications where SAE J844 and SAE J2494-3 nylon or polyamide tubing is specified.
Certified as a D.O.T. air brake fitting per FMVSS 571.106, SAE J2494, SAE J2494-3, and SAE J844. Designed for use with 1/4 inch OD rigid tubing and 1/8 inch NPT-ported components in compliant air brake and pneumatic systems.
Air brake system service must be performed by qualified technicians in accordance with applicable D.O.T. regulations and vehicle manufacturer requirements. Depressurize the air system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Verify the NPT male thread is clean and undamaged before engagement; use thread sealant appropriate for pneumatic service as required by the application. Confirm tubing OD and material meet SAE J844 or SAE J2494 specifications before insertion into the push-to-connect port.
