The PARKER 172PTC-4-2 is a push-to-connect swivel male branch tee tube fitting designed for pressurized pneumatic and air brake plumbing systems. Built from brass with a nitrile O-ring, this fitting accepts 1/4 inch OD tubing on the push-to-connect ports and features a 1/8 inch NPT male thread on the branch. It is rated for a maximum working pressure of 250 psi and handles a temperature range of -40 degrees F to 200 degrees F. The swivel design allows the male NPT thread to rotate during installation, making it easier to achieve proper alignment without twisting the tubing. Licensed HVAC and brake system technicians, as well as fleet maintenance professionals, are the primary installers of this fitting.
This fitting is intended for use in D.O.T.-compliant air brake systems on commercial vehicles and trailers, as well as pneumatic control lines in industrial and HVAC applications where 1/4 inch OD tubing connects to a 1/8 inch NPT ported manifold, valve, or component. Its brass construction makes it suitable for clean air, nitrogen, and light pneumatic service. The fitting meets D.O.T. Depressurize the air system completely before removing or installing any brake line fittings. Ensure the tubing end is cut cleanly and squarely with no burrs before insertion into the push-to-connect port. Hand-tighten the swivel NPT thread into the receiving port first, then apply a wrench for a final snug turn — do not overtighten into plastic or soft metal ports. Installation in regulated air brake systems must comply with applicable D.O.T. and SAE requirements.
