The PARKER 172P-4-4 is a brass compression tube male branch tee designed for use in fluid and pneumatic plumbing systems where a branch connection is needed off a main compression tube run. The fitting features a Compression x Compression x MNPT end configuration, allowing two compression tube connections inline with a male NPT branch outlet. Thread size is 1/4-18 NPTF, and the fitting is rated for a maximum working pressure of 150 psi at temperatures up to 150 degrees F. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial piping professionals install this fitting type when splitting or branching a tube line to a threaded port.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, refrigeration line sets, instrumentation tubing, and pneumatic control circuits where a reliable, leak-resistant branch connection is required. The brass body provides corrosion resistance in typical water, air, and oil service environments. The NPTF thread standard ensures a pressure-tight mechanical seal at the male threaded branch without relying solely on thread sealant.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation compression tee fitting for systems using 1/4-18 NPTF threaded ports with compression tube connections in plumbing, HVAC, and pneumatic applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician following applicable IPC or IFGC guidelines. Shut off system pressure and depressurize the line before disassembly or fitting installation. Hand-tighten the compression nuts before applying a final quarter to half turn with a wrench to avoid over-tightening and deforming the ferrule. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the MNPT branch threads per system requirements.
