The PARKER 172HD-6-6 is a brass male branch tee fitting designed for compression tube connections in fluid and gas distribution systems. It features two compression ends and one male NPT (MNPT) threaded outlet, allowing a branch connection off a main compression tube run. Rated to 1500 psi maximum working pressure, it handles demanding applications where a reliable, leak-resistant branch point is required. The brass construction provides corrosion resistance and durability across a wide temperature range. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and refrigeration mechanics typically install this fitting in copper or compatible tubing systems.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration applications where a branch off a compression tube line is needed with a male threaded outlet port. The MNPT end allows direct connection to female-threaded valves, regulators, or manifold ports. It is commonly used in water supply lines, refrigerant piping, and pneumatic control tubing where the compression-to-MNPT configuration is required at a tee junction.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation compression branch tee for systems using 3/8 inch compression tube connections and MNPT threaded ports in plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration piping.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified mechanical contractor in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC requirements. Shut off system pressure and relieve line pressure completely before disassembling or connecting any fittings. Ensure tubing ends are cut square, deburred, and fully seated in the compression fitting before tightening the compression nut. Do not overtighten the MNPT end — use appropriate thread sealant approved for the service fluid.
