The PARKER 172C-6-4 is a brass compression tube male branch tee designed to split or branch a compression tube line while providing a male NPT connection at the branch port. The fitting uses compression connections on two ports and a male NPT thread on the third, making it suitable for routing refrigerant, fuel, or hydraulic lines in tight installations. It is rated for a maximum working pressure of 200 psi and handles temperatures from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F. The all-brass body provides corrosion resistance and durability in demanding service environments. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and fluid-system installers use this fitting in both residential and light commercial applications.
This fitting is well suited for copper or compatible tubing runs in refrigeration, air conditioning, and hydraulic systems where a branch takeoff with a threaded port is required. The compression-style end connections allow tool-free tube insertion and reliable sealing without soldering or brazing. The male NPT branch port accepts a wide range of threaded accessories, gauges, or valves. It conforms to SAE J-512 standards, making it appropriate for use in regulated and specification-driven installations.
Designed as an OEM-style compression branch tee for use with standard compression tubing in refrigeration, HVAC, and hydraulic plumbing systems requiring a male NPT branch outlet.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician, plumber, or qualified fluid-systems mechanic. Depressurize and isolate the line before disassembly or fitting installation. Ensure tube ends are cut cleanly and deburred before seating into the compression fittings to achieve a proper seal. Verify thread compatibility and use appropriate thread sealant on the NPTF port if required by the system specification.
