The PARKER 171PTC-4-4 is a push-to-connect swivel male run tee tube fitting designed for air brake and pneumatic plumbing applications. Constructed from brass with a nitrile O-ring seal, this fitting connects 1/4 inch OD tubing on the run ends to a 1/4 inch NPTF male thread on the branch, allowing inline tube routing with a threaded port take-off. It is rated to 250 psi maximum working pressure and handles temperatures from -40 degrees F to 200 degrees F. The push-to-connect design speeds installation by eliminating the need for compression sleeves or ferrules while maintaining a secure, leak-resistant seal.
This fitting is classified as a D.O.T. air brake fitting and meets D.O.T. FMVSS571.106, SAE J2494, SAE J2494-3, and SAE J844 standards. It is suited for commercial vehicle air brake systems, pneumatic control lines, and compressed air plumbing in both mobile and stationary equipment. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and fleet maintenance professionals working on air brake or pneumatic circuits install this type of fitting. The swivel male thread on the branch port simplifies alignment during assembly, reducing torque transfer to connected tubing.
Designed as a D.O.T.-compliant air brake fitting for use with 1/4 inch OD nylon or polyethylene tubing in pneumatic and compressed air brake circuits meeting SAE J844 and SAE J2494 specifications.
Depressurize and bleed all air from the system before removing or installing any fittings. Ensure tubing ends are cut square and free of burrs before inserting into the push-to-connect ports. Thread the NPTF male branch into the mating port by hand first, then tighten with a wrench to avoid cross-threading. Verify the system holds rated pressure before returning to service, and inspect for leaks at all connection points.
