The PARKER 171PTC-4-2 is a push-to-connect tube-to-male NPT fitting designed for use in compressed air and pneumatic fluid systems. It accepts 1/4 inch OD tubing on both tube ends and connects to a 1/8 inch NPTF male thread. Constructed from brass with a nitrile O-ring, it is rated to 250 psi maximum working pressure and handles temperatures from -40 degrees F to 200 degrees F. This fitting is classified as a D.O.T. Air Brake fitting, making it appropriate for regulated vehicle air brake circuit installations as well as general industrial pneumatic plumbing. Licensed HVAC technicians, fleet mechanics, and pneumatic system installers are the primary users.
This fitting is suited for residential and commercial pneumatic systems, vehicle air brake lines, and industrial compressed air distribution where a secure push-to-connect interface to a male NPT port is needed. The push-to-connect design allows tubing to be inserted and locked without tools, speeding up assembly on equipment panels, compressor manifolds, or brake valve circuits. Its compact brass body fits tight routing paths where space is limited.
Designed as a D.O.T.-classified air brake fitting compatible with 1/4 inch OD tubing and 1/8 inch NPTF male ported components in compressed air and pneumatic brake systems.
Installation is performed by licensed mechanics or pneumatic system technicians. Depressurize and isolate the air circuit completely before removing or installing any fitting. Ensure tubing is cut cleanly and squarely and that the tube end is free of burrs before inserting into the push-to-connect collar. Verify that thread engagement meets NPTF sealing requirements and inspect for leaks after returning the system to operating pressure.
