The PARKER 170PTCNS-8-8 is a push-to-connect rigid 90-degree female elbow fitting designed for air brake and pneumatic tube systems. Constructed from brass, it connects a 1/2-inch OD tube on each end to a 1/2-inch NPTF female port, allowing a right-angle directional change in a tubing run without the need for tools on the tube side. Rated to 250 psi maximum working pressure, it operates across a temperature range of -40 degrees F to 200 degrees F. The nitrile O-ring provides a reliable seal in compressed-air service. This fitting is typically installed by fleet mechanics, air system technicians, and plumbers working on DOT-regulated air brake circuits.
This fitting is specified for DOT air brake applications and meets D.O.T. FMVSS 571.106, SAE J2494, SAE J2494-3, and SAE J844 standards. It is suited for commercial vehicle air brake lines, pneumatic control circuits, and similar high-pressure tube assemblies where a 90-degree female elbow connection is required. The push-to-connect design speeds up installation in both new builds and field repairs where tubing must change direction at a female NPT port.
Designed for DOT air brake tubing systems using 1/2-inch OD tubing with a 1/2-inch NPTF female port connection. Suitable for commercial vehicle air brake circuits and pneumatic systems conforming to the listed SAE and DOT standards.
Installation should be performed by a qualified mechanic or technician familiar with DOT air brake regulations. Depressurize the air system completely before removing or installing any fittings. The receiving female NPT port should be inspected and cleaned before assembly; apply thread sealant appropriate for compressed-air service to the male NPT threads engaging this fitting. Verify that the OD tubing is cut squarely and deburred before insertion into the push-to-connect ends to ensure a proper seal.
