The PARKER 170PTCNS-8-6 is a push-to-connect brass rigid 90-degree female elbow fitting designed for tube-to-FNPT connections in compressed air and pneumatic fluid systems. It accepts 1/2 inch OD tubing on each tube port and terminates with a 3/8 inch NPTF female thread, allowing a right-angle transition between tubing runs and threaded ports. Rated to 250 psi maximum working pressure, this fitting is built for general-purpose use and carries D.O.T. compliance for air brake circuit applications. The nitrile O-ring internal seal maintains a leak-free connection across a wide service temperature range.
This fitting is suited for residential and commercial pneumatic systems, D.O.T.-regulated air brake circuits, and general industrial fluid conveyance lines wherever a 90-degree direction change between 1/2 inch OD tubing and a 3/8 inch female NPT port is required. It is a standard installation component for vehicle air brake systems meeting D.O.T. FMVSS 571.106, SAE J2494, SAE J2494-3, and SAE J844 requirements. Plumbers, fleet mechanics, and HVAC/R technicians working on air lines and pneumatic controls are the typical installers.
Designed for general-purpose pneumatic and air brake systems using 1/2 inch OD tubing with a 3/8 inch NPTF female thread port. Suitable for D.O.T. air brake fitting applications as specified by the manufacturer.
Depressurize the air system and release all stored pressure before removing or installing any fitting. Ensure the 1/2 inch OD tubing end is cut cleanly and squarely with no burrs before inserting into the push-to-connect port. Thread the NPTF female end onto the mating male NPT port and verify engagement before re-pressurizing the line. Inspect for leaks at rated pressure before returning the system to service.
