The PARKER 170PTC-4-2 is a push-to-connect swivel 90-degree female elbow tube fitting manufactured from brass. It connects tubing with a 1/4-inch outside diameter to a 1/8-inch NPTF female port, providing a right-angle flow path in a compact, swivelable body. The fitting is rated for 250 psi maximum working pressure and handles temperatures from -40 degrees F to 200 degrees F. Designed as a D.O.T. air brake fitting, it meets D.O.T. FMVSS571.106, SAE J2494, SAE J2494-3, and SAE J844 standards. Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with D.O.T. air brake system requirements. Depressurize the air brake system fully before removing or installing any fittings. Ensure the 1/8-inch NPTF female port threads are clean and undamaged before assembly; the NPTF thread form creates a metal-to-metal seal that does not require thread tape when properly engaged. Push tubing fully into the collet until it bottoms out before applying system pressure, and verify there are no leaks at operating pressure before returning the vehicle to service.
