The PARKER 170HD-4-2 is a brass compression tube female elbow fitting designed to connect a 1/4-inch OD tube to a 1/8-inch female NPT (FNPT) port at a 90-degree angle. It transitions between compression and threaded connections in a single compact body, rated to 2100 psi maximum working pressure. The brass construction offers reliable corrosion resistance in fluid and gas service. This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, refrigeration mechanics, and instrumentation technicians working with small-diameter tubing in control, pneumatic, or process lines.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a tubing run must terminate or change direction into a female-threaded port. Typical install scenarios include connecting copper or compatible plastic tubing to control valves, pressure gauges, solenoid valve bodies, or instrument manifolds. The compression end accepts 1/4-inch OD tubing without soldering or flaring, making it practical for field connections in tight or heat-sensitive locations. The FNPT end threads directly into standard female pipe-threaded ports.
Designed as an OEM-style compression fitting for use with 1/4-inch OD tubing and 1/8-inch female NPT threaded ports in plumbing, HVAC, pneumatic, and instrumentation applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified plumber, HVAC technician, or instrumentation mechanic. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any compression fitting. Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the tubing, then advance with a wrench per standard compression fitting practice — do not overtighten, as brass ferrules can deform and cause leaks. Verify tubing is cut square and deburred before insertion to ensure a proper ferrule seal.
