The PARKER 170C-8-8 is a brass compression tube female elbow fitting designed to connect a compression tube end to a female NPTF threaded port in a 90-degree configuration. Rated to 200 psi maximum working pressure and suitable for temperatures ranging from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, this fitting handles a wide range of fluid and pneumatic service conditions. The 1/2-14 thread size conforms to NPTF standards, providing a pressure-tight mechanical seal. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters install this type of fitting in tubing runs where a direction change and a threaded female port connection are required at the same joint.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC refrigerant and fluid lines, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic tubing applications where a reliable compression-to-FNPT transition is needed. The elbow geometry is used when routing tubing around obstructions or transitioning to a panel-mounted or manifold-mounted female threaded port. It is appropriate for use in both new installations and retrofit or repair service work involving existing compression tube systems.
Designed as an OEM-style compression tube female elbow for use in compression tube systems requiring a 1/2-14 NPTF female threaded port connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before removing or installing any compression fitting. Ensure the tube end is cut cleanly and squarely and is free of burrs before seating it into the compression ferrule. Do not overtighten the compression nut, as excessive force can deform the ferrule and compromise the seal.
