The PARKER 170C-7-4 is a brass compression tube female elbow designed to create a leak-tight, 90-degree directional change in tubing runs where a compression fitting meets a female NPT port. The elbow features a 1/4-18 NPTF thread on the female end and a compression connection on the tube end, with a maximum working pressure of 200 psi and a rated temperature range of -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Constructed from brass, this fitting offers solid corrosion resistance for use in fluid and pneumatic systems. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters install this type of fitting during system assembly or repair.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial applications where tubing must transition to a threaded female port at a right angle. Typical installations include refrigeration lines, compressed air distribution, hydraulic control circuits, and fuel or fluid handling systems. The compression-by-FNPT configuration eliminates the need for flaring or soldering, making it practical for field repairs and new construction alike.
Designed as an OEM-style compression tube female elbow fitting for systems using compression-to-FNPT connections with a 1/4-18 thread size in fluid, pneumatic, or refrigeration piping applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable codes such as the IPC or IFGC. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing any fitting. Use a backup wrench on the female port to avoid stressing adjacent piping when tightening the NPTF thread. Do not overtighten the compression nut, as brass fittings can be damaged by excessive torque.
