The PARKER 169PTCNS-8-8 is a push-to-connect rigid 90-degree male elbow tube fitting designed for use in compressed air and DOT-compliant air brake systems. Constructed from brass with a nitrile O-ring, it connects 1/2-inch OD tubing to a 1/2-inch NPTF male port in a single right-angle configuration. The push-to-connect design allows fast, tool-free tube insertion while maintaining a secure, leak-resistant seal rated to 250 psi. Licensed HVAC, refrigeration, and fleet service technicians working with pneumatic lines and air brake circuits are the primary installers of this fitting.
This fitting is suited for residential and commercial pneumatic systems, vehicle air brake lines, and other compressed air circuit applications where a 90-degree directional change is required between a tube run and a male-threaded port. Its DOT compliance under FMVSS 571.106, SAE J2494, SAE J2494-3, and SAE J844 makes it appropriate for on-highway air brake service. The brass body handles operating temperatures from -40 degrees F to 200 degrees F, covering a wide range of working environments.
Designed for use with 1/2-inch OD tubing connecting to 1/2-inch NPTF male-threaded ports in DOT-approved air brake and pneumatic systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with DOT air brake or pneumatic system service. Before servicing, depressurize the air system completely and verify zero pressure at the work point. Ensure tubing is cut cleanly and squarely and that the tube end is free of burrs before insertion into the push-to-connect collet. Verify thread engagement on the NPTF port is sufficient and that the fitting body is fully seated before re-pressurizing the circuit.
