The PARKER 169PTCNS-8-6 is a push-to-connect rigid 90-degree male elbow tube fitting constructed from brass. It accepts 1/2-inch OD tubing on the push-to-connect ends and provides a 3/8-inch NPTF male threaded connection. Rated to 250 psi maximum working pressure, the fitting is designed for DOT-compliant air brake systems on commercial vehicles. The nitrile O-ring seals the tube connection and performs across a service temperature range of -40 degrees F to 200 degrees F. Installation requires no tools on the tube side — tubing inserts and locks without ferrules or compression sleeves. This fitting is installed by fleet service technicians and licensed air brake system specialists.
This fitting is specified for DOT air brake plumbing on heavy trucks, trailers, and other commercial motor vehicles where push-to-connect assembly speed and positive sealing are required. The tube-to-MNPT configuration allows the fitting to transition between nylon or polyethylene air brake tubing and a threaded port on a valve body, manifold, or bulkhead component. It is appropriate for use where DOT FMVSS 571.106 and SAE J844 compliance is required by regulation.

Installation must be performed by technicians qualified to service DOT air brake systems in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations. Depressurize the air system fully and drain reservoir tanks before removing or installing any air brake fitting. Ensure tubing is cut cleanly and squarely and that the tube end is free of burrs before inserting into the push-to-connect port. Thread the NPTF male end into the mating port using an appropriate thread sealant compatible with the system medium, and verify all connections for leaks before returning the vehicle to service.
