The PARKER 169PTCNS-4-6 is a push-to-connect rigid 90-degree male elbow tube fitting designed for pneumatic tubing systems, specifically air brake and DOT-regulated fluid line applications. Made from brass, this fitting accepts 1/4-inch OD tubing on the push-to-connect end and terminates in a 3/8-inch NPTF male thread. It is rated to 250 psi maximum working pressure and handles a temperature range of -40 degrees F to 200 degrees F. The nitrile O-ring provides a reliable seal under pressure. This fitting is used by fleet mechanics, brake system technicians, and HVAC plumbing tradespeople working with compressed air or fluid transfer lines.
The 169PTCNS-4-6 is designed for use in DOT-compliant air brake tubing systems, including commercial vehicle and heavy-duty truck air brake circuits. The push-to-connect design allows for quick, tool-free tube insertion while the rigid 90-degree elbow geometry is suited for tight routing changes in confined chassis or equipment enclosures. It meets D.O.T. FMVSS571.106, SAE J2494, SAE J2494-3, and SAE J844 standards, making it appropriate for regulated brake system installations.
Designed as a DOT air brake fitting compatible with 1/4-inch OD tubing and 3/8-inch NPTF male threaded ports. Suitable for use in DOT-regulated air brake tubing systems meeting SAE J844 nylon or polyamide tubing specifications.
Installation is performed by fleet mechanics or pneumatic system technicians. Always depressurize and isolate the air brake system fully before removing or installing fittings. Ensure the NPTF male threads are clean and engage the mating port to proper thread engagement depth before applying system pressure. Verify tubing is cut square, deburred, and fully inserted to the tube stop before pressurizing the connection.
