The PARKER 169PTC-8-6 is a push-to-connect 90-degree male elbow tube fitting made from brass, designed for air brake and pneumatic plumbing systems where a right-angle direction change is needed between a tube run and a male threaded port. The fitting accepts 1/2-inch outside diameter tubing on the push-to-connect ends and connects to a 3/8-inch NPTF male thread. Rated to 250 psi maximum working pressure, it carries DOT certification for Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 571.106 and meets SAE J2494 and SAE J844 requirements. The nitrile O-ring seals provide reliable performance across a working temperature range of -40 degrees F to 200 degrees F. Licensed plumbers, fleet mechanics, and HVAC technicians install this fitting in compressed-air and pneumatic control lines.
This fitting is suited for DOT-compliant air brake plumbing on commercial vehicles as well as general pneumatic tubing applications in industrial and mobile equipment settings. The push-to-connect design allows fast, tool-free tube insertion while the NPTF thread provides a pressure-tight connection to ported components such as valves, manifolds, and actuators. It is appropriate for use with compatible 1/2-inch OD nylon or polyethylene air brake tubing in both on-highway and off-highway applications.
Designed as a DOT air brake fitting compatible with 1/2-inch OD air brake tubing systems requiring a 3/8-inch NPTF male threaded port connection. Meets SAE J844 and SAE J2494 standards for air brake tubing and fittings.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with DOT air brake system regulations. Depressurize the air system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Ensure the NPTF threads are clean and free of debris before torquing to the ported component; use thread sealant compatible with air service only if required by the mating component specification. Verify tube ends are cut cleanly and squarely before insertion into the push-to-connect collet to ensure a proper seal.
