The PARKER 169HD-8-8 is a brass compression tube male elbow fitting designed to create a 90-degree directional change in tubing runs with a leak-resistant compression connection on one end and a male NPT threaded connection on the other. The fitting handles a maximum working pressure of 1150 psi, making it well suited for demanding fluid and gas distribution lines. Built from brass, it resists corrosion and is compatible with copper and compatible soft tubing commonly found in HVAC, plumbing, and instrumentation systems. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters install this type of fitting where a tubing line must transition to a threaded port on a valve, manifold, or equipment fitting.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial applications where a compression-to-male-pipe-thread transition is required. Typical install scenarios include refrigerant service lines, water supply connections, instrument tubing, and pneumatic control lines. The compression end accepts tubing without soldering or flaring, while the MNPT end threads directly into a female-threaded port. Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing and mechanical codes. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before removing or installing any compression fitting. When tightening the compression nut, avoid over-tightening, which can deform the ferrule and cause leaks. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the MNPT threads per standard practice before threading into the receiving port.
