The PARKER 169HD-8-6 is a brass compression tube male elbow fitting designed to create a 90-degree directional change in tubing runs while transitioning from a compression connection to a male NPT threaded port. Built from brass, it handles a maximum working pressure of 1,150 psi, making it well suited for moderate- to high-pressure fluid and gas lines. The compression end grips tubing mechanically for a leak-resistant seal without soldering, while the male NPT thread end connects directly to female-threaded ports on valves, manifolds, or equipment panels. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters install this fitting in both residential and light commercial applications.
This fitting is appropriate for use in compressed air, hydraulic, refrigeration, and general plumbing systems where a tubing line must change direction and terminate at a threaded port. The 3/8 inch thread size fits standard NPT female ports of the same size. The compression-by-MNPT end configuration is common in equipment connections, instrument lines, and control tubing installations where disassembly and reassembly may be required over the life of the system.
Designed as an OEM-style compression fitting for use in residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC, and instrumentation systems requiring a 3/8 inch compression-to-MNPT male elbow transition.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician. Shut off all fluid or gas supply and relieve system pressure before working on any fitting. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads per applicable IPC or IFGC guidelines before making up the threaded connection. Tighten the compression nut to a snug fit plus a controlled additional turn — do not overtighten, as brass compression fittings can crack or distort the ferrule if over-torqued.
