The PARKER 169CA-6-4 is a brass compression tube male elbow fitting designed to connect a 3/8-inch outside diameter tube to a 1/4-18 NPTF male pipe thread at a 90-degree angle. Constructed from brass, this fitting handles a maximum working pressure of 1000 psi and performs across a wide temperature range of -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F. The compression end grips the tube mechanically without solder or flare prep, while the MNPT end threads directly into a female pipe port. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial service professionals install this type of fitting in fluid and gas line applications where a reliable, leak-resistant tube-to-pipe transition is required.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC refrigerant and instrument tubing, and hydraulic or pneumatic control lines where a 3/8-inch OD tube must change direction and connect to a 1/4-18 NPT-threaded port. The NPTF thread standard provides a pressure-tight mechanical seal. Typical applications include instrument air lines, fuel lines, water supply connections, and control tubing routed in tight spaces where an inline union is impractical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation compression fitting for systems using 3/8-inch outside diameter tubing with a 1/4-18 NPTF male pipe thread port.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing and mechanical codes. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before disassembling or installing any fitting. Ensure the tube end is cut square, deburred, and fully seated before tightening the compression nut. Apply appropriate thread sealant to the MNPT threads per the system fluid compatibility requirements; do not overtighten, as brass fittings can crack under excessive torque.
