The PARKER 169CA-5-4 is a brass compression tube male elbow fitting designed to connect tubing to male NPT threaded ports at a 90-degree angle. It features a compression end for 5/16-inch outside diameter tubing and a 1/4-18 NPTF male threaded end. Rated to 1200 psi maximum working pressure, this fitting handles a wide temperature range from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F. It is suited for hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and instrumentation lines where a leak-resistant, vibration-tolerant compression connection is required. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial piping mechanics are the typical installers.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial applications where copper, brass, or compatible tubing must transition to a threaded port at a change of direction. Typical installations include instrumentation panels, refrigeration line sets, fuel delivery systems, hydraulic control circuits, and compressed air distribution lines. The compression-style end eliminates the need for soldering or flaring at the tubing connection, making it practical for field repairs and tight-space installations where torch work is not feasible.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation compression male elbow fitting for systems using 5/16-inch OD tubing with 1/4-18 NPTF male threaded port connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified piping mechanic familiar with compression fittings and NPT threaded connections. Depressurize and isolate the line completely before disassembly or installation. Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the tubing, then advance with a wrench per standard compression fitting practice — do not overtighten, as brass compression fittings can crack if over-torqued. Verify the NPTF threaded end seals properly on assembly; apply thread sealant as required by the applicable plumbing or mechanical code.
