The PARKER 169C-8-6 is a brass compression tube male elbow designed to connect 1/2-inch OD tubing to a male National Pipe Tapered Fuel (NPTF) threaded port at a 90-degree angle. The compression end grips the tube mechanically, eliminating the need for soldering or flaring, while the MNPT end threads directly into a female NPT fitting or port. Rated to 200 psi maximum working pressure and a temperature range of -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, this fitting is built for demanding fluid and gas line applications. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters use this type of fitting when routing copper or compatible tubing into threaded manifolds, valves, or equipment ports.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC refrigerant-adjacent fluid lines, pneumatic systems, and fuel service applications where a direction change from tubing to a threaded connection is required. The NPTF thread standard provides a pressure-tight mechanical seal without relying solely on sealant tape. Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before disassembling or installing any compression fitting. Ensure the tubing end is cut square and deburred before inserting into the compression end to achieve a reliable seal. Do not overtighten the compression nut, as brass fittings can be damaged by excessive torque.
