The PARKER 159F-8-4 is a 45-degree male flare elbow fitting machined from brass, designed to connect 1/2-inch OD flared tubing to a 1/4-18 NPTF male thread. It is used in refrigeration, HVAC, and pneumatic tubing systems where a 45-degree directional change is required at a threaded port. The flare end conforms to SAE J512 and SAE J513 standards, providing a leak-resistant metal-to-metal seal. Rated to 750 psi maximum working pressure and 250 degrees F maximum working temperature, this fitting is suited for moderate-pressure fluid and gas lines. HVAC technicians and refrigeration mechanics are the primary installers.
This fitting is applied in residential and light commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, and pneumatic plumbing where 1/2-inch OD copper or aluminum tubing terminates at a 1/4-18 NPTF port. The 45-degree angle allows routing tubing away from tight panel edges or component housings without bending the tubing itself. Its brass construction resists corrosion in refrigerant, air, and hydraulic fluid service. The UL Listing designation supports use in applications where listed components are required by code or specification.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for systems using 1/2-inch OD flared tubing connections at 1/4-18 NPTF ported components in HVAC, refrigeration, and pneumatic applications.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or refrigeration mechanics. De-energize all electrical systems and recover or isolate refrigerant or fluid pressure before disassembling any fitting. The NPTF dry-seal thread is designed to seal on thread interference alone; avoid over-tightening, which can crack brass fittings. Ensure the tubing flare is formed correctly to SAE specification before seating to prevent leaks at the flare face.
