The PARKER 159F-4-4 is a brass 45-degree male elbow fitting designed to connect a flared tube to a male NPTF threaded port at a 45-degree angle. It accepts a 1/4-inch tube OD on the flare end and a 1/4-18 NPTF thread on the male pipe end. Rated to 1,400 psi maximum working pressure and a maximum working temperature of 250 degrees F, this fitting handles demanding service conditions in refrigeration, HVAC, and fluid-handling systems. It meets SAE J512 and SAE J513 standards and carries a UL Listing. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and pipefitters install this type of fitting during system assembly or repair.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and pneumatic or hydraulic tubing runs where a 45-degree directional change is needed between a flared copper or aluminum tube and an NPTF-threaded port on a valve, manifold, or equipment connection. The Flare x MNPTF configuration makes it a common choice when routing refrigerant or compressed-air lines around obstructions in tight mechanical spaces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems using 1/4-inch OD flared tubing with 1/4-18 NPTF threaded ports, typical in residential and commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and pneumatic applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician, plumber, or pipefitter following applicable codes. Depressurize and recover any refrigerant or relieve system pressure before disassembling existing fittings. Apply thread sealant approved for NPTF connections on the male pipe threads; do not use sealant on the flare seat. Verify the flare is properly formed and free of cracks or distortion before torquing to prevent leaks.
