The PARKER 149F-12-8 is a 45-degree flared tube male elbow fitting machined from brass. It connects a 3/4-inch OD flared tube to a 1/2-14 NPTF male threaded port, redirecting a fluid or gas line at a 45-degree angle in tight installations. This fitting is rated to 550 psi maximum working pressure and handles temperatures up to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for a range of refrigeration, hydraulic, and plumbing applications. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and fluid-power service professionals install this fitting when routing tubing through confined spaces where a straight connection is not practical.
This elbow is used in residential and commercial HVAC systems, refrigerant line sets, hydraulic circuits, and fuel and oil plumbing where SAE flare connections interface with NPT-ported components. The flare-by-MNPTF end configuration allows direct connection between a 45-degree flared tube on one end and a male NPTF threaded fitting or port on the other. Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or fluid-power mechanic. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing any existing fittings. Hand-tighten the NPTF threaded end first, then wrench-tighten to achieve a proper metal-to-metal seal on the flare; do not overtighten, as brass threads and flare seats can be damaged. Follow applicable SAE and local code requirements for flare connections in refrigerant or pressurized fluid service.
