The PARKER 149F-10-6 is a brass 45-degree flared tube male elbow designed to connect flared tubing to a male NPTF threaded port at a 90-degree change in direction using a 45-degree flare seat. The fitting accepts 5/8-inch tube OD on the flare end and connects to a 3/8-18 NPTF male thread on the pipe end. Rated to 650 psi maximum working pressure and up to 250 degrees F, it is built for refrigeration, HVAC, and fluid-power lines where a reliable, leak-resistant flare connection is required. Licensed HVAC technicians and plumbers install this fitting during new construction and service work on copper and compatible tubing systems.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC refrigerant lines, hydraulic fluid circuits, fuel lines, and pneumatic systems where a 45-degree flare-to-MNPTF transition is needed. The 45-degree flare end conforms to SAE J512 and SAE J513 standards, making it compatible with standard SAE flare fittings widely used in refrigeration and compressed-gas applications. Its compact brass construction makes it a practical choice in tight equipment cabinets and mechanical rooms where routing flexibility is needed.
Designed as a standard SAE J512/J513 flare fitting for use with 5/8-inch OD tubing and 3/8-18 NPTF threaded ports in HVAC, refrigeration, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or plumber in accordance with applicable mechanical and refrigeration codes. De-pressurize and isolate the system before removing or installing any fittings. Use a properly calibrated flaring tool to produce a clean, concentric 45-degree flare seat on the tubing before threading the fitting; a distorted or cracked flare is the most common cause of joint leakage. Do not over-torque the flare nut, as brass fittings can be damaged by excessive force.
