The PARKER 11R10 is a string-wound cartridge filter designed for plumbing and water filtration applications. It measures 10 inches in length with a 2.5-inch outside diameter, fitting standard filter housings used in residential and light commercial systems. Constructed from cotton wound over a tinned steel core, it filters particulates at a 50-micron rating, making it appropriate for sediment reduction in potable water lines, process water, and general plumbing supply. Licensed plumbers and water treatment technicians are the primary installers. The cotton string-wound construction provides depth filtration, capturing particles throughout the media rather than just at the surface.
This cartridge is suited for residential whole-house filter housings, light commercial water treatment systems, and point-of-entry sediment filtration setups. It performs in applications where moderate particulate removal is required upstream of pressure regulators, water heaters, or secondary filtration stages. The 50-micron rating targets coarse sediment such as sand, silt, and scale. The tinned steel core provides structural support under working pressure and resists corrosion in wet service. Maximum operating temperature is rated at 250 degrees F, extending its use into hot-water filtration contexts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for standard 10-inch plumbing cartridge filter housings that accept a 2.5-inch outside diameter string-wound cartridge.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before opening the filter housing. Inspect the housing O-ring for wear and replace if needed before seating the new cartridge. Follow applicable local plumbing codes, including IPC guidelines, for potable water filtration components.
