Use a calibrated torque wrench and the appropriate open-end wrench on the 1-1/8 inch hex to tighten to the fitting manufacturer's specified procedure without over-torquing the JIC flare seat. Inspect the flare seat and threads for damage before assembly, and replace if any deformation is present.
